What is Thymalin?

Thymalin is not a single peptide. It is a mix of short peptides, 1 to 10 kDa, extracted from the thymus of calves. The thymus is the organ where T cells mature, and it shrinks with age.

It was developed in Russia by Vladimir Khavinson’s group, the same team behind Epitalon, and has been studied there for decades.

How does it work?

Thymus signals: it is thought to act like the thymus’s own peptides, which guide T-cell development.
Blood stem cells: in a 2020 cell study it pushed human blood stem cells toward becoming immune cells.
Short peptides inside it: later work identified small peptides, such as the dipeptides KE and EW, as active parts.
